We have some positive updates and a renewed hope that things will continue to go in a positive direction. Judge William E Carnes Jr. will now be overseeing the case and Assistant Rhode Island Attorney General and Chief of the Special Victims Unit Megan McDonough has been added to the case. In addition to these changes, the new trial date is set to November 12,2025.
On the day of the rescheduling, we had presence outside the courthouse as we have had several times in the last month. It’s the only way to get across in this system that we’re here and we see what’s happening. Other than that, victims and their families are completely powerless to this process.

For those that are relatively new here, The Marshall family has always fought to keep Zacks memory alive and in doing so also gave back to their community in his name. They did this by hosting benefits, bike runs, giving scholarships and passing kindness cards in his memory. Theres has been a valiant effort to keep his name out there. So every time you see a ZJM sweatshirt, a post on Facebook and article in the paper it’s a testament to the work everyone has done to keep Zacks life and story out there to get to the very moment they have waited almost 15 years now.
We want to thank those that have stood by and continue to stand by Zack almost 15 years later. So much of life has passed and life goes on for most people but it’s the unrelenting dedication of our family, friends and community that give us the strength to keep pushing. The people who take the time to remember Zack, to stop by the shop, to the people that ask and check in, to those that follow along and share and spread the word, thank you endlessly.
